Aiming Higher to Save Animals and Enrich Lives

Q1 2021 Giving Back

Last quarter Yeager partnered with the Arizona Humane Society as part of our Aim Higher initiative. Our team is 100% pro-pets and while we were hoping for the opportunity to spend time at the facility, we did a Covid-friendly event to help our team learn more about helping animals in our community and to give back to a cause near and dear to our hearts.

The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) has a vision to transform animal welfare. They want us to imagine a community where no animal suffers on the streets. Where animal homelessness and abuse are combated with leading-edge strategy and technology, hand-in-hand with concerned citizens and animal advocates. And they provide a safe haven where severely injured and abused animals receive state-of-the-art medical and behavior rehabilitation interventions scarcely thinkable today.

AHS representative and host, Ashleigh Goebel, told us all about the day to day happenings at the facility, including how many animals are treated there annually, the level of care provided and their needs. She then took us on a virtual tour of their Central Campus and Animal Welfare Center where we saw the animals being cared for and which ones are currently available for adoption. While very tempted, no one walked away with a new furry friend – at least not yet.

As part of our giving back to AHS, our team made dog and cat toys as well as blankets for kitten season which will be upon us here in the next few weeks. During this time the organization takes in hundreds of kittens and cares for them until they can be adopted. With their Ethical No-Kill Philosophy™ AHS is a safety net for the most vulnerable animals – the sick, injured and abused, who are often turned away by other shelters.
